This day was Grade 5 field trip day to the Vancouver Art Gallery. We specifically went to learn about Emily Carr and the Group of 7. We had to get to school extra early and take a bus to the Gallery, but it was a free field trip and the VAG did a fantastic job hosting us. After a very interesting tour of the Gallery the kids were provided with all the tools necessary to do their own piece of art with the inspiration of Emily Carr all around them. It was amazing how the hostess treated the children, she was very informative and very supportive in all the kids put on their boards. I was impressed with this field trip and the Gallery for putting a lot of effort in hosting this group of young artists.
Then after the tour, we ate our bag lunches on the stairs of the gallery. Thankfully it was a beautiful day!

Sounds like a great experience! I've always wanted to do the Family Sunday at VAG....
